About Jenny Nyström
Jenny Eugenia Nyström was born in Kalmar in 1854. She studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts and later continued her artistic education at Académie Colarossi in Paris.
She worked with paintings, books, magazines and greeting cards. Her widely distributed illustrations helped shape the modern Swedish image of Christmas, particularly through her depictions of children, family celebrations and the Swedish tomte.
