About This Paul Gustav Fischer Poster
Paul Gustav Fischer’s Model is a refined studio painting from 1894. Sotheby’s records the work as signed and dated “Paul Fischer / April 1894,” painted in oil on canvas, with original dimensions of 78.7 × 34 cm.
Fischer was a Danish painter from Copenhagen. Lex.dk describes how he combined elements of salon art, realism, impressionism and photography, and notes that he painted portraits, interiors and bathing scenes. That broader context makes Model especially fitting: it is both a figure study and an atmospheric interior.
As a Danish art print, this poster has a quiet elegance. It is not loud or decorative in a modern sense. Instead, it brings a soft studio mood into the room — calm, artistic and slightly intimate.
