Norway through the eyes of a seventeenth-century mapmaker
Tabula Episcopatuum Stavangriensis, Bergensis et Asloiensis names the bishoprics of Stavanger, Bergen and Oslo. Johannes Janssonius published a version in Amsterdam in 1636. The map belongs to a period when church districts helped organise descriptions of territory; its boundaries and geography reflect knowledge at the time.
The print was clear and beautifully produced. Ordering was quick, and everything was as expected.
